| They have been here for many years, about 1.5 million years ago. Squirrel Monkeys originated in the tropical Rainforests of South America. But in the 1950's, a group of Squirrel Monkeys were taken from Cuba, by a social group in Fort Lauderdale. Only for a research project in Florida, which got canceled. So the monkeys were then released into the wild, and were never seen again to this day. |
