Homepage Copywriting Challenge. Watch this video to see how you can design a homepage for your website on Canva, then proceed to the instructions to write compelling and persuasive copy for the homepage of a mock start-up website that converts visitors into customers.

Build a Website in Canva 

Instructions: 

  1. Research Your Competitors: Research other companies in your industry to see how they communicate with their audience and what copy is on their website that they use to convert visitors into customers.
  2. Craft Your Value Proposition: Write a clear and concise value proposition that explains what sets your mock start-up apart from the competition and why visitors should choose your product or service.
  3. Write Your Headline on your website template: Create a headline that grabs attention and communicates the key benefit of your product or service.
  4. Develop Your Message: Write the main body copy for your homepage on your website template, focusing on the benefits of your product or service and how it solves your target audience’s problems or meets their needs.
  5. Create a Call to Action: Write a compelling call to action that encourages visitors to take the next step, such as signing up for a free trial or making a purchase.
  6. Review and Revise: Review your homepage copy and revise it to ensure it is clear, persuasive, and free of errors.
  7. Share your homepage copy with a friend, family member, or teacher for feedback.
